Higgs Boson Discovery might be mysterious for most of us and a fascinating topic which makes us wonder will it ever end. The world is full of possibilites and we cannot predict what we are going to have the next very moment.
Prof. Stephen Hawkins hoped for some different announcements from the CERN scientists this wednesday about the God matter. He firmly believed that no more matter or sub atomic particle will be discovered or annouced by the CERN.
CERN announced the discovery of the Higgs Boson with a high degree of certainity but the announcement costs prof. Hawkins $100, as he made a bet that the result would be different.
"This is an important result, and should be rewarded with a Nobel prize, but it is a pity in a way, because the great advances in physics came from experiments that gave results we didn't expect,' Hawking said in an interview with the BBC.
"For this reason, I had a bet with Gordon Kane of Michigan University that the next particle wouldn't be found. It seems I have just lost $100,' concluded Hawking with a smile.
The event confirms that the world is full of possibilites. You cannot determine what comes next.
