Anonymous now targetting child porn and chat sites #OpPedoChat
Accroding to the video published on youtube by hacker group anonymous, they have now turned their sights from corporate malpractive to online sexual predators - resurrecting its war against child porn and chat sites.
This is not the first time when anonymous has shown their concerns about the illegal activities in porn industry. Child porn and illegal forum and chat sites are what making the internet loose it's reputaiton. In October 2011, Anonymous sub-group Operation Darknet infiltrated the Freedom Hosting server, taking down 40 of its worldwide child pornography sites, including Lolita City, which contained more than 100GB of content. Members also posted to the Web personal details of 1,589 of the site's members.
The group has lauched #OpPedoChat, which targets the users of forums and sites where illegal images of underage children are posted and shared.
In a Youtube Video (below) posted on July 8th, 2012 Anonymous said it "aims to diminish, if not eradicate this plague from the Internet" via a new campaign, dubbed Operation PedoChat.
"Recently it has come to our attention that there has been a surge of websites dedicated to paedophiles for chat and picture sharing. These paedophiles openly advocate concepts like "man-boy love," stating that 8-year-old boys enjoy it and prey on their attention."
"This is not limited to boys; boards for little girls exist and operate with impunity. Child pornography is frequently traded and even innocent pictures of random children (at the beach, on a playground, in their homes) are publicly fantasized about."
"For the good of our followers, for the good of mankind, and for our own enjoyment we shall expel from the Internet and systematically destroy any such boards that continue to operate," Anonymous said.
The movement #OpPedoChat is already taking some buzz on twitter, with @TheAnonOne, or V, leading the Viral Charge.
The video's masked spokesman said the surge of chat and photo-sharing websites dedicated to child porn are often hidden and unknown to most Internet users. To unmask these alleged offenders, Anonymous has posted the Internet details of the websites' users on Pastebin (here, here, here, and here).
