Top 10 most pirated movies on internet, week ending August 1st, 2012

The top 10 most downloaded movies on BitTorrent, 'American Reunion' tops the chart this week, followed by 'The Dark Knight Rises'. 'The Raven' completes the top three.

This week there are two newcomers in our chart.

American Reunion is the most downloaded movie once again.

The data for our weekly download chart is collected by DigitFreak, and is for informational and educational reference only. All the movies in the list are BD/DVDrips unless stated otherwise.

American Reunion (also known as American Pie: Reunion in certain countries) is a 2012 comedy film written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. It is the eighth installment in the American Pie film series overall as well as the fourth and final installment in the American Pie main series of American Pie (1999), American Pie 2 (2001), and American Wedding (2003). The film's plot ignores the events of the direct-to-DVD spin offs.

The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan and the story with David S. Goyer. Featuring the DC Comics character Batman, the film is the third and final installment in Nolan's Batman film trilogy, and is a sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). Christian Bale reprises the lead role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

The Raven is an American thriller film directed by James McTeigue and based on a screenplay by Ben Livingston and Hannah Shakespeare.[5] It stars John Cusack, Alice Eve, and Luke Evans. It was released March 9, 2012 in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland and in the United States and Canada on April 27, 2012.

 

4. Dr. Seuss' The Lorax (IMDB) (YouTube):

The Lorax is a 2012 American computer-animated 3D musical comedy film based on Dr. Seuss' children's book of the same name. It was produced by Illumination Entertainment and was released by Universal Pictures on March 2, 2012, the 108th anniversary of Seuss' birth.

A special agent's plans to reconcile with his ex-fiancé are ruined when she boards a private jet that is targeted by hijackers working for the same crime lord that he is chasing.

Out on parole after 8 years inside Bill Hayward returns home to find his now 11 and 15 year old sons abandoned by their mother and fending for themselves. Unwilling to play Dad, an uncaring Bill is determined to move on. Although Dean the older boy has found a job and is doing his best to be a father to his younger brother Jimmy, the arrival of Bill has brought them to the attention of social services.

Project X is a 2012 comedy film directed by Nima Nourizadeh in his feature film debut, written by Michael Bacall and Matt Drake based on a story by Bacall, and produced by The Hangover director Todd Phillips. The plot follows Thomas (Thomas Mann), Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B. (Jonathan Daniel Brown), three friends who plan to gain popularity by throwing a party.

 

8. 21 Jump Street (IMDB) (YouTube):

Morton Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Greg Jenko (Channing Tatum) are former classmates who meet again at police academy. Schmidt was a nerd while Jenko was a jock. They end up becoming friends at the academy as they help with each others' weaknesses, with Schmidt helping Jenko study and Jenko motivating Schmidt through physical activity. They graduate together as partners.

 

9. Celebrity sex tape (IMDB) (YouTube):

Celebrity Sex Tape plot basics are the set up of a taped cell phone conversation and threats for a huge blackmail sum as a group of college age kids try to raise the money to ward of the threatening man. The kids hire washed up porn stars to film and people pay good money to watch the videos, and the funds start to add up.

 

 

10. Wrath of the titans (IMDB) (YouTube):

Wrath of the Titans is a 2012 American fantasy film and sequel to the 2010 film Clash of the Titans. The film stars Sam Worthington, Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy, Édgar Ramírez, Toby Kebbell, Danny Huston, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson with Jonathan Liebesman directing a screenplay by Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson.
